Comedy Night!
|
Not too long ago, we wrote down names and placed them on the cross in our Worship Center. The names we wrote were of people whom we'd pray about and invite to MSC in the coming year.
I want you to think about the name of the person you wrote down and have been praying about. Now . . . this Friday, the Panic Squad will be at MSC. This troupe of professional, improv comedians (think "Whose Line is it Anyway?") offers a great opportunity for you to make that prayer a reality!
This is your chance to invite your friends to church and let them see that Christian people are regular folks. Tickets are still available online or at the door.
Don't miss this terrific act and wonderful opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the people God has placed in your path.
- Pastor Keith

Impact
|
Okay, this is quite a list of ways you can impact our community. Don't skip over it . . . there's some amazing stuff on the horizon!
Just like Sundays. But on Saturdays. By now, you've probably heard that we're launching a second Saturday service on February 27. You all are responding in huge ways to our challenge to make Saturday your worship "home" so our Sunday guests have some elbow room. Thank you! If you've missed the opportunity to sign up for one of our volunteer positions on either Saturday or Sunday, take a peek at the Children's Ministry and Hospitality opportunities! By joining a volunteer team, you'll meet new people . . . and you'll be a part of the incredible stuff God's doing through MSC!
Furnishing Hope. MSC is developing a new outreach effort, Furnishing Hope, that will provide furniture to families affected by Hurricane Katrina. (Yes, they're still rebuilding. Staggering, isn't it?) We're currently inviting volunteers to help run the program, and we're seeking warehouse space. Get details online and/or attend our upcoming interest meeting. Sunday, February 21, 1:00 - 2:00 pm; The Element
Homeless Ministry. On Saturdays after worship, a team of people treks downtown to take blankets and other essentials to the homeless. New volunteers are always welcome to join the team! > Learn More
Blood Drive. It's not too late to reserve your time for the Blood Drive. You may do so on this weekend's bulletin insert or online. Thanks! Wednesday, February 10, 3:30 - 8:00 pm; MSC Lobby
Recovery. If you're in recovery and interested in helping us develop a recovery ministry, attend this month's interest meeting, and/or contact Pastor Ike. Sunday, February 21, 4:00 pm; Kid Connection modular
Air Hockey. If you have an air hockey table you're willing to let us borrow or buy, let us know. (Yes, this is a community impact deal; it's for next year's Family Circus!)

| Trivia Night Update |
Although the main auditorium is all booked up, we still have a handful of tables available in the video venue. This is a first-come, first-served deal, so if you're interested in having one, we recommend that you reserve it online right away. Also, we still have some Trivia Night sponsorships available. Check 'em out! |

| Teams & Training |
Kid Connection Orientation. If
you've recently signed on as a volunteer in Kid Connection, or if
you're considering joining this incredible team, we look forward to
seeing you at Tuesday's orientation! Please RSVP to Carole. Tuesday, February 9, 7:00-8:30 pm
Prayer Team Meeting. Current and potential volunteers on our Prayer Team are invited to our annual meeting. We'll have a light breakfast, devotion time, prayer training, and, of course, plenty of prayer. RSVP to Nancy. Saturday, February 20, 8:30 - 11:30 am; K-3 Room
MSC's Got Talent. We invite skilled instrumentalists and vocalists to audition for our Praise Band. Stop at the Connection Center this weekend to get details and to reserve your audition time. Sunday, February 21; MSC Auditorium
Tech Team. Do people tend to duck and cover when you sing or play but you'd really like to be a part of our worship team? How about joining our tech team (sound, cameras, lights, computer operation)? If you're feeling a bit intimidated, no worries: Training will be provided! For more information, contact Mark.

Brief Bits
|
Registration deadlines are approaching for Open Mike Night, Deeper: Apocalypse, Living Guilt Free, and Spirit Care.
Attention Kid Connection Volunteers! Please note that if we're in need of additional help during any service, we'll flash a "1234" on the LED boards under the auditorium screens. If you're able and willing to lend a hand, just head to the Kid Connection registration desk when you see that number. Thanks!
Do you know about MSC's Facebook page? As a "fan" of MSC, you'll get get updates and reminders about events and such, but more importantly, it's a GREAT way to invite your friends to church. We've heard stories of people who decide to try MSC because one of their Facebook friends mentioned it online. Sweet!
